ICRF finds no evidence of torture used against Abdusalam Ramazanov
In Rostov-on-Don, the court has announced the results of an investigation into the fact of detection of a haematoma on the body of Abdusalam Ramazanov, a native of the Tsuntina District of Dagestan, accused of attempting to join militants in Syria.
Abdusalam Ramazanov pleads not guilty. He insists that he went to study in Egypt and then in Turkey. Earlier, the court has refused to initiate proceedings on the complaint about torture used against Abdusalam Ramazanov. On January 20, witnesses declared Abdusalam Ramazanov's innocence.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that on March 13, the court pronounced the decision to refuse to open a criminal case, initiated by the investigating authorities following the results of the investigation. Advocate Elena Denisenko has clarified that the court initiated the investigation after reading the testimony of Abdusalam Ramazanov.
According to the advocate, since entering the criminal case, she has repeatedly filed complaints to the investigating authorities about the use of torture against her client.
The advocate has also reminded that, according to her client, he was tortured after being detained at the airport, in the period from November 20 until November 26, when he was brought to the building of the Investigating Department for the Republic of Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
