Astrakhan: three "Rosgvardia" soldiers wounded in shootout; one attacker killed
Investigators believe that the attackers on power agents were also involved in shelling policemen on April 4.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on April 4, two DPS (road-and-post service) policemen were shot dead in Astrakhan. The attackers escaped to the car with Dagestan number plates, which was found later in the Privolzhsky District of the Astrakhan Region. According to investigators, four persons, including natives of Chechnya and Dagestan and two natives of the Astrakhan Region, are suspected of killing the above DPS policemen.
According to preliminary data, in the course of operative actions, servicemen of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) stopped a Renault car. During the document check, a shootout began, and three "Rosgvardia" servicemen were wounded, the "Interfax" reports, citing Pyotr Rusanov, the head of the press service of the Department of the Russia Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Astrakhan Region.
The attack occurred tonight in the Leninsky District. Allegedly, there were three attackers; in the course of the shootout, one of them was killed; the others managed to escape with the firearms of the "Rosgvardia" servicemen, the RIA "Novosti" reports, referring to Andrei Khegai, the senior head of the regional department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
