"Open Sochi" Movement gives 12 copies of Constitution to detention facility

A parcel, containing copies of the Russian Constitution, was sent to the temporary detention facility (known as the IVS) at the request of Konstantin Gudimov, a supporter of Alexei Navalny and a participant of the action against corruption in Sochi, who is conducting an explanatory work there, activists of the "Open Sochi" Movement have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on April 16, ten Sochi started their action against corruption in the "Hyde Park" in the town of Khosta; eight of them were detained. On April 17, Suren Edigarov, the organizer of the action, was sentenced to eight days of arrest; Olga Smirnova was arrested for five days; and Konstantin Gudimov – for ten days; the latter went on a protest hunger strike. On the same day, Tatyana Voronina was arrested for two days.

Konstantin Gudimov, who is serving his 10-day term at the IVS, asked to give him 12 copies of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, Nina Rogachova, the coordinator of the movement, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, Gudimov conveyed his request via one of his released cellmates. "According to the cellmate, Konstantin is running an explanatory work at the IVS and finds it necessary to present copies of the Constitution, so that everyone, with whom he communicates, could make it a desk book on human rights in Russia," said Nina Rogachova.
