Resident of Volzhsky accused of using violence against policeman during action of Alexei Navalny's supporters

Today, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has announced the completion of the investigation into the case against two participants in the action held by supporters of Alexei Navalny in Moscow, who are accused of using violence against policemen. One of the defendants is a resident of Volzhsky, who claims that he happened to be on the place of the action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 26, many cities of Russia, including in Moscow and in the south of the country, hosted actions held by supporters of oppositionist Alexei Navalny under the slogan "He is not Dimon for you". The actions resulted in mass detentions.

Stanislav Zimovets, who arrived from the town of Volzhsky of the Volgograd Region to the Russian capital to look for a job, found himself among the people detained in Moscow.

Today, the ICRF has announced the completion of the investigation into the criminal cases against Stanislav Zimovets and another participant of the protest action held in Moscow on March 26.

Yuri Kuliy and Stanislav Zimovets are accused of using violence against a public official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reports Svetlana Petrenko, the ICRF's spokesperson.

According to investigators, on March 26, being a participant of an unsanctioned mass event held in Pushkin Square, Stanislav Zimovets "threw a brick at a fighter of the National Guard of Russia and inflicted physical pain to him."

Advocate Svetlana Sidorkina, who represents the interests of Stanislav Zimovets since April 24, has reported that her client has made a confession because of persuasions of his advocate appointed by the court and that now the resident of Volzhsky wants to retract his confession.
