Journalists see a non-trivial step in appointing General the chief investigator of Dagestan
The general title of Sergey Dubrovin, the new chief of the Dagestani Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), can give him advantages in his new position. This opinion was voiced by journalists interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". They did not rule out that after the appointment of Sergey Dubrovin, the ICRF's Department for Dagestan can be replenished by people from his Stavropol team.
On March 9, Eduard Kaburneyev, the chief of the ICRF's Department for Dagestan, was appointed the head of the Chief Investigating Department of the ICRF. On May 1, Vladimir Putin issued a decree appointing Sergei Dubrovin, Lieutenant General of Justice, the chief of the ICRF's Department for Dagestan for a five-year term.
Magomed Magomedov, the deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" (Draft), treats the appointment of Sergey Dubrovin as "unusual." "Not a colonel, but the Lieutenant General, who had already built his career, came to the republic. And this is a certain career limit," explained Magomed Magomedov.
According to him, in future, Sergey Dubrovin can count on leading positions in the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation.
Magomed Magomedov has also noted that the ICRF's Department is one of the key units in the power bloc, and according to the law, it is ICRF, which initiates searches.
Rasul Kadiev, an advocate and a journalist, has expressed another point of view. "Staff members of the Investigating Department are clerks who deal with operative materials coming from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the FSB," Rasul Kadiev said.
