"Immortal Regiment" action held in Nagorno-Karabakh for the fist time

The marchers from Stepanakert to Shushi, timed to the Victory Day, carried more than 200 photographs of participants of the Great Patriotic War and of the Armenian-Azerbaijani military conflict.

The action was organized by the Nagorno-Karabakh public organization "Artsakh Youth Development Centre", its head Susanna Petrosyan told the "Caucasian Knot".

"We prepared more than 200 photographs: Armenian marshals, Armenians – heroes of the Great Patriotic War and heroes of the War for Independence of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) of the 1990s," Ms Petrosyan said.

She has noted that the "Immortal Regiment" action was held in Nagorno-Karabakh for the first time. "We posted an announcement-invitation in the Facebook social network; and we hoped that many people with photos would come. However, we hope that next year relatives and friends of the deceased heroes will join us," said Susanna Petrosyan without specifying the exact number of participants in today's action. According to her story, by the 2018 march, the Youth Development Centre will prepare more than a thousand posters with photographs of war participants.
