In Grozny, fighter of National Guard of Russia arrested on suspicion of killing his stepfather

In Grozny, a pensioner of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) was shot in his own house by his stepson, a fighter of the special unit of the National Guard of Russia (known as "Natsgvardia"). This was reported by acquaintances of the killed man.

According to residents of Grozny, the murder occurred in one of the villages of the Chechen capital on May 26. The suspected killer was detained by neighbours and relatives who came to the place of the incident. He has been already taken into custody. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by friends of the killed man. According to them, the fighter of the National Guard of Russia also wounded his half-brother.

According to local residents, the murder could result from blood feud, since the killer's blood father was killed by his stepfather in the late 1990s. "In 1994, the guy's blood father was sentenced for a series of brutal murders. His wife with little child married another man. When the war broke out, all the prisoners were released and the guy's blood father joined militants. In 1996 or 1997, in the absence of the woman's current husband, he broke in to his ex-wife and at the same time her current husband, a MIA's staff member, returned home. The ex-husband snatched a grenade, and the owner of the house had to use his pistol. The man was acquitted, since it was an act of self-defence. Most likely, it is the circumstance that has now become the reason for his murder," believes a local resident familiar with the killed man.
