Dagestani SC supports Makhachkala residents dissatisfied with resettlement
Today, the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan has dismissed the appeal lodged by Makhachkala Mayoralty, which demanded to invalidate the inspection certificates of the houses included into the programme of emergency and dilapidated housing.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 23, 40 residents of Makhachkala, dissatisfied with resettlement, stated they did not want to move from the city centre to outskirts. They achieved a meeting with the city Mayor, but, according to their version, the negotiations ended in vain.
The Makhachkala list includes 99 emergency houses with a total living area of 35,810 square meters, says the website of the Foundation for Promoting Reforms of Housing and Communal Services.
The ruling of the Sovietsky District Court (first instance) came into force, said Zagidat Surkhaeva, the residents' advocate. The drawing up of inspection certificates took place with violations of the law, she said.
Ruslan Aliev, a lawyer, said that when resettling people from dilapidated and emergency housing, the new apartment floor area should be no smaller than the previously occupied housing area.
