Twelve persons suffered in mass brawl in Leninaul
Twelve persons, including three policemen, were injured in a mass brawl in the Dagestani village of Leninaul, said Sira Saipov, the former head of the village.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a brawl in Leninaul Kazbek District broke out on June 25 for domestic reasons. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, 10 persons were detained after the brawl. It was reported in social networks that the brawl was of Chechens against Avars.
"It often happens that some adolescents offend others, after which a spontaneous brawl breaks out. That is, this one had purely domestic reasons," said Saipov.
"They listened to both parties; and the conflict was exhausted. As for the issue of Leninaul's accession to the Aukhov District, the Chechen population is still in favour of it, while Avars are against. Certain individuals are using this contradiction to gain political benefits for themselves... and innocent people suffer as a result," the "Regnum" quotes Mr Saipov as saying.
A police unit in an APC (armoured personnel carrier) arrived to stop the brawl. The victims' lives are out of danger, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda-Northern Caucasus" writes, referring to its own sources.
