Gukovo miners declare hunger strike

Today, in the town of Gukovo in the Rostov Region, miners of the "Kingcoal" Company have gathered for a new sanctioned picket. They claim that they did not receive their wages. The miners announced that they went on hunger strike in protest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since the spring of 2016, "Kingcoal" miners have been regularly protesting in Gukovo and Rostov-on-Don, demanding repayment of their salary debts and issuance of ration coal.

More than 50 people have gathered today in front of the former office of the "Kingcoal" Company. 14 people wrote statements that they go on hunger strike, and some of the protesters promised to join the hunger strike tomorrow, on July 5. In total, 39 people declared their desire to participate in the hunger strike.

The picketers have announced that on July 11, ten of them will go to Moscow to continue their hunger strike there. According to them, the place for the protest action in the Russian capital is still being coordinated.
