Tbilisi: "Georgians' March" participants demand deportation of migrants (+video)

In the centre of Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, protest marchers have demanded from the authorities to immediately deport all illegal migrants and ban the oppositional party "United National Movement" (UNM).

Giya Korkotashvili, one of the organizers of the action, said that protesters gave the authorities a week to agree with their demands, and a month – to implement them. Otherwise, he threatened holding new protest actions.

"There will be no pogroms – just legal protests – a hunger strike or something else," the "Sputnik Georgia" quotes Mr Korkotashvili as saying.

Sandro Bregadze, another organizer, has demanded to promptly deport from Georgia all the foreigners, who illegally stay in the country, and adopt a new law that toughens the receipt of a residence permit and citizenship in Georgia.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) must take efficient measures against the illegal criminal activities practiced by foreigners; it mainly concerns drug trafficking and prostitution," Mr Bregadze has added.

Besides, he demanded to pass a law prohibiting financing non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from abroad. Sandro Bregadze has treated the today's action as the start of the "new national liberation movement," the "InterPressNews" reports.

Sandro Bregadze is the leader of the movement "Erovnulebi" (Nationals), the "EurAsia Daily" reports.
