Dagestani resident detained on suspicion of trying to join militants in Syria
At the airport of Mineralnye Vody, border guards took off a plane a resident of Dagestan, who planned to leave for Syria and join militants. This was reported by the Border Guard Department of the Russian FSB Department for Kabardino-Balkaria.
According to the FSB Department, a resident of Dagestan, born in 1997, wanted to transit to Syria for participation in hostilities on the side of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia.
A detainee confessed to his intention to joint militants and voluntarily refused to fly abroad. He was handed over to the law enforcement agencies at the place of his residence, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source from the in the Border Guard Department.
