25 people suffer from explosion in Azerbaijani hostel

Today, in Azerbaijan, an explosion has occurred in a hostel of temporary settlers; 25 persons were hospitalized; several of them are grave, doctors report.

The explosion occurred in the third floor of the hostel, situated in District No. 8 of the city of Sumgait, and triggered a fire, which was extinguished. The hostel tenants were evacuated.

According to the spokesperson of the Sumgait First Aid and Emergency Hospital, 25 people were hospitalized. "Among them, there are grave patients, such as a 14-year-old girl, who was placed into the intensive care unit," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the source.

At fire extinguishing, a police sergeant and an employee of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) also suffered and were hospitalized, the "Trend" reports.
