Two alleged militants detained in Dagestan

The Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports detention of two residents of Khasavyurt, who has joined militants in Kaspiysk.

According to investigators, in August 2017, two men voluntarily joined an illegal armed formation (IAF) and began fulfilling the orders of the IAF leader.

The suspects were looking for and storing weapons and ammunition and recruited new members for the IAF, says the website of the above ID.

The criminal case was initiated under the article of "participation in an IAF".

The "Caucasian Knot" reported on September 15 that the Suleiman-Stalski District Court of Dagestan sentenced a local resident to 6.5 years in prison, after finding him an IAF member. The court established that the man provided militants with housing, transported them in his car and supplied foodstuffs.
