Tamerlan Eskerkhanov suspected of insulting investigator in Boris Nemtsov's murder case

Investigators suggest at a court hearing, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, sentenced in the case on the Boris Nemtsov's murder, insulted a witness questioned by the court. This was reported on October 11 by an advocate of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 10, the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia slightly mitigated the verdict in the case on politician Boris Nemtsov's murder. The SC cancelled the fines, but upheld the terms of imprisonment.

On July 13, the court sentenced five natives of Chechnya, accused of killing Boris Nemtsov. Zaur Dadaev, who was found by investigators to be the killer, was sentenced to 20 years in prison; Anzor Gubashev, Shagid Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev were sentenced to long prison terms, from 11 to 19 years.

A new criminal case has been instituted against Tamerlan Eskerkhanov under Part 1 of Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (contempt of court). No charge has yet been filed against him, reported Anna Byurchieva, an advocate of the sentenced man.

According to her, the investigators believe Tamerlan Eskerkhanov insulted investigator Alexander Kamashev, who attended the court hearing as a witness.

"A forensic linguistic examination was appointed in the case, but experts failed to come to any clear conclusions. The second forensic examination will now be carried out, and the criminal case depends on it: experts are to determine whether an insult took place or not," reported Anna Byurchieva as quoted on October 11 by the RIA "Novosti".

"Earlier, the first forensic examination has concluded there were no components of crime, and a resolution on termination was issued... At present, they need an examination to confirm it had been an insult," the RIA "Novosti" quoted the advocate as saying.
