Ukrainian doctors not admitted to Pavel Grib

The Russian party sees no need to examine the Ukrainian citizen Pavel Grib by Ukrainian doctors, while he needs medical help, Professor Vasily Pritula said.

19-year-old citizen Pavel Grib disappeared in Belarus in late August, and on September 7 was found in Krasnodar SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 5. The territorial FSB branch informed Ukrainian diplomats that Pavel Grib was kept there charged under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorism). According to his father, Pavel has a disability and must constantly take medications.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13 the spokesman of the Oktiabrsky District Court of Krasnodar confirmed that the Ukrainian citizen Pavel Grib was imprisoned on charges of terrorism.

Ukrainian doctors failed to see Pavel Grib in the SIZO, Professor Vasily Pritula from the Bogomolets National Medical University, who was monitoring Mr Grib’s health since 2003, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We turned to the local FSB department, but they refused to admit us," Mr Pritula said.

According to his story, today, they lodged a complaint to the Krasnodar Territorial Prosecutor's Office. All attempts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine to reach an agreement with their Russian colleagues failed, Vasily Pritula has added.

"The Russian party asserts that Pavel Grib needs no medical care from Ukrainian doctors; and that he allegedly receives the necessary treatment at the SIZO," Professor Pritula said.

However, according to his version, the conditions of the SIZO’s medical unit do not allow to provide the necessary care to Pavel Grib, since "he needs high-tech medical care with its congenital diagnosis."
