Police fail to find kidnappers of Makhachkala Imam's son
Investigators did not find out any involvement of policemen in an attempt to kidnap a son of Nigmatulla Radjabov, Imam of the Makhachkala Salafi mosque. This was reported by a response got by the Imam from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on September 7, in Makhachkala, unidentified persons forced into a car the 18-year-old son of the Imam from the Makhachkala Salafi mosque. However, the young man managed to escape from the kidnappers. This was reported by Imam Nigmatulla Radjabov. According to him, the kidnappers wore police uniforms, and the incident occurred near the "Tangyim" mosque and the Imam's house, located next to the mosque. Officials from the Dagestani MIA promised to check the Imam's statement.
The answer from the operative and investigative unit of the Dagestani MIA's own security department came addressed the Nigmatulla Radjabov's name via e-mail on November 9. According to it, "during the inspection," it appeared not possible to reveal any information about illegal actions of MIA's staff members, but all materials had been sent to the investigative bodies to consider "the issue of bringing guilty persons to justice," the "Novoe Delo" reports today.
