Telethon raises more than 12 million US dollars for Nagorno-Karabakh

In Los Angeles, 12,505,456 US dollars were raised during the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Foundation's Charity Television Marathon (Telethon) held under the motto of "Fruitful Artsakh".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the telethon was launched at 10:00 p.m. Yerevan time on November 23. This year, the raised donations are to be spent on the construction of infrastructure in Nagorno-Karabakh, including the irrigation system and the development of solar energy systems.

The telethon was broadcasted by the First Public TV Channel of Armenia. Today, it has been finished at 10:00 a.m., the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh declared that in case if the programmes financed by the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Foundation are implemented successfully; they will boost the social and economic development of the country and strengthen its security.

When speaking about the introduction of solar energy system, President of Nagorno-Karabakh Bako Sahakyan has noted it is a new direction for the country, which has economic advantages in comparison with traditional sources of energy and plays an important role in ensuring energy security of the country.
