President Putin: explosion in Saint Petersburg was a terror act
In the case of an explosion in a Saint Petersburg supermarket, investigators classified the incident as an attempted murder. However, today, the Russian President has called the incident a terror act. Vladimir Putin has also reminded the recent detention of natives of Dagestan and Ingushetia in the case of a preparation of terror acts in Saint Petersburg.
President Putin has added that he instructed the FSB to act "within the law" while detaining suspects, but allowed "to take no captives, to eliminate criminals on the spot" in case of any threat to the lives of law enforcers.
The Russian President has also reminded that "more recently, the FSB has eliminated another attempt of a terror act," the "Interfax" reports.
In Saint Petersburg, the explosion near the storage room in the supermarket "Perekryostok" (Crossroads) took place in the evening on December 27. As a result, 13 people were injured.
Half an hour before the explosion, a "brunette of non-Slavic appearance" entered the store and left a backpack in the storage room, the "Fontanka" reports with reference to its sources.
