Russian residents demand to find attackers on Andrei Rudomakha

In Krasnodar, more than 1000 people signed a petition in one day with the demand to heads of investigating bodies and the Kuban Governor to take control over the investigation into the an attack on ecologist Andrei Rudomakha.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on December 28, 2017, in Krasnodar, unidentified persons attacked Andrei Rudomakha, a coordinator of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch), and his companions. The ecologist was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury and a broken nose. Andrei Rudomakha associates the attack on him with his environmental activities.

The petition with the demand to investigate the attack on Andrei Rudomakha and the activities of the FSB Department for the Krasnodar Territory is posted on the portal Change.org.

The authors of the petition request the chiefs of the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia, the FSB, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), as well as the Kuban Governor to take the case under their personal control to ensure "that the guilty persons are identified and brought to justice."

Besides, the petition also requests FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the activities of the FSB Department for the Krasnodar Territory. The authors of the petition believe that law enforcers are engaged in "systematic suppression of environmental activities" of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus".
