APCs arrive in Baku from Russia

Modern Russian military vehicles and ammunition are delivered to the Baku port and will be transferred to the armed forces in the Karabakh conflict zone, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijani reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a large number of Russian vehicles were received by Azerbaijan on June 24, 2017.

The next consignment of vehicles was delivered to Azerbaijan via the Caspian Sea on January 19. The armoured personnel carriers (APCs) will be delivered to the front line as soon as possible, the Azerbaijani MoD reports.

The APCs delivered are characterized by high manoeuvrability and large fire capabilities, the MoD reports. "This type of military vehicles was successfully used in the course of combat actions in April 2016," reports the Azerbaijani MoD's website on January 19.

The situation in the Karabakh conflict zone sharply worsened at night on April 2, 2016. On April 5, the parties to the conflict announced the ceasefire. However, for more than a year after that, the shelling did not cease even for a day.

In its report, the Azerbaijani MoD does not disclose the information about the quantity of military vehicles and its type. A video published by the MoD shows the unloading of APCs in the port, and then they form a column to pass through the city streets.
