Shamil Nurmagomedov, who tried to rescue his brother from IS in Syria, sentenced to seven years
The Moscow District Military Court has sentenced Shamil Nurmagomedov, a native of Dagestan, to seven years in prison on charges of financing the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Shamil Nurmagomedov was arrested in Moscow and accused of financing terrorism after his brother Marat occurred in the ranks of the IS.
Shamil Nurmagomedov has refused to plead guilty, stating that he had helped his brother to get out of the territory controlled by the IS.
