Residents of Dagestan treat staff cleansing as president Putin's pre-election manoeuvre

Users of social networks from Dagestan have supported the arrests of high-ranking officials, urging not to stop the fight against corruption after the presidential election in Russia. The Senators and MPs, who themselves occurred under attack due to staff cleansing, refused to support the former head of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 5, Abdusamad Gamidov, the acting prime minister of Dagestan; his deputies Shamil Isaev and Rayudin Yusufov; and Shakhabas Shakhov, a former minister of education and sciences of Dagestan, were detained within a fraud case. The government of Dagestan was dismissed.

The resignation of the government was no surprise for the Dagestani elite, said Ilyas Umakhanov, a Deputy Chairman of the Russia's Federation Council. According to his story, the check continues, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

According to a source from the Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), a large-scale personnel cleansing "is directly connected with the Vladimir Vasiliev's advent to power."

"It is known that the decision to clean the region was made after Vasiliev's meeting with Putin," the RBC quotes its source from the MIA.

Vasiliev was received by Putin on December 4, 2017, the Kremlin's website has reported. Then, Putin and Vasiliev agreed that "everyone wants the rule of law in Dagestan."
