In Kalmykia, two journalists hold pickets in memory of Boris Nemtsov

In Elista, Valery Badmaev, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Modern Kalmykia", and freelance journalist Vitaly Kadaev held solo pickets on the anniversary of politician Boris Nemtsov's murder.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. On July 13, 2017, the court sentenced five natives of Chechnya, accused of killing Boris Nemtsov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 25, in many cities of Russia, people held actions in memory of Boris Nemtsov.

Today, the action in memory of Boris Nemtsov has been also held near a fence of the central square of Elista, not far from the Kalmyk government building. From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Moscow time, Valery Badmaev, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Modern Kalmykia", and freelance journalist Vitaly Kadaev held solo pickets. In their hands, the picketers held a poster reading: "He was villainously murdered in Moscow on February 27, 2015."

"We stood with the poster in turn. And to ensure the police had no grounds to detain us, we did not handed over the poster to each other, but hung it on the fence when we took turns," Valery Badmaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
