ICRF confirms detention of head of Derbent District

Magomed Djelilov, the head of the Derbent District, suspected of abuse of power, was detained for two days, investigators have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported referring to its sources that today a search has been conducted at the administration of Derbent District.

Investigators have informed that Magomed Djelilov is suspected of illegally granting land plots to two local residents. The damage caused by these actions to the municipality is estimated at 2.2 million roubles. The source has stated that Djelilov was detained and sent to the Makhachkala SIZO (pre-trial prison).

"Djelilov was detained for two days; his case went to the court," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Rasul Temirbekov, a senior assistant to the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
