Serzh Sargsyan's nomination for Premier announced amid protest rally in Yerevan

Today, about 500 people gathered in Freedom Square in Yerevan with a demand to prevent Serzh Sargsyan from taking the post of Prime Minister. The acting head of the Armenian government has confirmed today that Serzh Sargsyan will be nominated to the post of the Premiere.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the inauguration of Armen Sargsyan as the new President of Armenia was held today; and the presidential powers of Serzh Sargsyan have terminated; and the Armenian government resigned. On April 17, the Parliament will elect the Prime Minister, who, in accordance with the recent constitutional reform, will be the first person of the state.

Serzh Sargsyan will be nominated to the post of the Armenia's Prime Ministers, Karen Karapetyan, the acting Premier, has stated today. According to his story, the decision was made back on April 7, during his meeting with Serzh Sargsyan.

The participants of todays' joint rally, organized by the Front "For the State of Armenia" and the initiative group "Reject Serzh", chanted: "Consolidation!", calling on all oppositionists and the entire Armenian people to unite in order to prevent the continuation of Serzh Sargsyan's power, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The end of Serzh Sargsyan's presidency "does not mean victory," therefore, Armenian citizens must go to Freedom Square and stay there until April 17, said Petros Makeyan, the spokesman of the Front "For the State of Armenia".
