Kazim Nurmagomedov's advocate announces soon transfer of his client's case to court
Kazim Nurmagomedov, a resident of Dagestan, accused of complicity in participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF) after rescuing his son from the Islamic State*, complains about health problems and is not allowed to be visited by his relatives, his advocate reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since February 1, Kazim Nurmagomedov is being kept in custody on suspicion of complicity in participating in an illegal IAF. He faces 8 to 15 years of imprisonment.
Kazim Nurmagomedov on January 31, was detained in Moscow by law enforcers in police uniform. Later, he was taken to Dagestan.
Son of Kazim Nurmagomedov, Shamil Nurmagomedov, was accused of financing the Islamic State*. Shamil Nurmagomedov claims that he had transferred money to his brother Marat to help him to get out from the territory controlled by the IS*. The "Caucasian Knot" published an interview with their father Kazim Nurmagomedov entitled "Bring back alive: From Dagestan to ISIL* to return the son".
Kazim Nurmagomedov is being kept at the Khasavyurt SIZO (pre-trial prison) and at the recent visit of his advocate on April 6, he did not voice any complaints about the conditions of detention. "Kazim does not have any complaints, but his health is getting worse. I have handed him over a number of necessary medicines," advocate Abdurashid Sheikhov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Till present, the Kazim Nurmagomedov's relatives do not have any opportunity to visit him. "The investigative bodies never give anyone charged under such articles a chance to be visited by relatives," Abdurashid Sheikhov stated.
The defender believes the investigation will not be delayed and expects an early transfer of the Kazim Nurmagomedov's case to court. "The investigator solemnly promised that he would complete the investigation in April and hand over [the materials of the case] to the Prosecutor's Office by May, and from there they would be sent to court," Abdurashid Sheikhov noted.
* Islamic State (IS, ISIL) is a terrorist organization and banned in Russia by the court
