The negotiations with Karen Karapetyan on transferring the power to the opposition will be held at noon on April 27; Mr Karapetyan will represent the ruling party, Nikol Pashinyan, the oppositional leader, has stated at a rally in Yerevan. He has urged his supporters to stop protests for the next two days.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has offered protesters to start negotiations without preconditions, after which Nikol Pashinyan urged citizens to come to a rally in Yerevan, promising to make public the plan of the second phase of protests.
At today's rally in Yerevan, Nikol Pashinyan has invited Karen Karapetyan, the acting Prime Minister, to the second stage of negotiations. According to Mr Pashinyan, it will be held on April 27 at 12:00 a.m. local time in the Marriott Armenia Hotel.
Mr Pashinyan has stressed that on May 1 he intends to become Prime Minister of Armenia, and will not agree to any deals with the ruling RPA. The previous talks with Karapetyan, which were scheduled for April 25, did not take place, as Karapetyan was not at that time authorized by the RPA to negotiate. However, now he is authorized to negotiate, Mr Pashinyan said, adding that the talks should be held in the presence of journalists, the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports.
Also at the rally, Pashinyan called on activists to unblock all the city and streets and stop protest actions until April 29. The opposition rally ended with a march through central streets of Yerevan, the "News.am" reports.
