Dagestani resident complains about his relatives' kidnapping in Egypt

In March and April, in the capital of Egypt, armed people kidnapped 18 residents of Dagestan, including 10 children. Their relatives cannot find out their whereabouts. This was reported on April 27 by Gusein Baisultanov, a relative of some of kidnapped people.

According to Gusein Baisultanov, he arrived in Cairo about a month ago to find his cousin Sakinat Baisultanova, a native of Dagestan, who with her four children lived in the capital of Egypt for four years already, the press service of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" reports.

On March 12, about a dozen armed men in masks visited an apartment where Sakinat Baisultanova stayed with her children and her sister Mesedo Baisultanova. The armed men asked the women about people unknown for Sakinat and about her former husband, who took part in the armed conflict in Syria and whom she divorced three years ago.

After that, the armed men took Sakinat and her children away with them, but the children were soon returned back to the apartment, reported the HRC "Memorial" on its website on April 27.

At night on April 24, the mother and the father of the Sakinat Baisultanova's former husband, who arrived to care of four children, Mesedo Baisultanova with her four children and six of their friends and countrymen, including two children, were taken away to some unknown destination, Gusein Baisultanov has reported.

According to him, none of those people was wanted. Gusein Baisultanov appealed to the Consular Section at the Russian Embassy in Cairo. However, till present, it has not been possible to find out the whereabouts of the kidnapped people.
