In Sochi, real estate investors appeal to President Putin for help

Real estate investors of the "Poltava" housing complex met the Mayor of Sochi, and when he refused to make concessions to them, they sent an appeal to Vladimir Putin. The real estate investors of the "Poltava" housing complex asked the President to help them legalize unsanctioned construction.

On June 6, the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" got a message reporting that a house of the "Poltava" housing complex in Sochi was recognized as unsanctioned construction and was a subject to demolition. "A seven-storey house is built, inhabited, and people have been living in it for three years already," wrote authors of the SMS-message.

More than 70 families participate in the real estate construction of a house in Poltavskaya Street. The housed was completed when officials announced it to be an unsanctioned construction, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Olga Rudyuk, the chair of the "Poltava" housing complex.

According to her, the number of tenants of the house includes small children, people with disabilities, and elderly people.

Earlier, "after all citizens had been recognized as victims, officials from the Mayoralty issued recommendations to create a housing cooperative ... The Mayor promised to remove an attachment from the land and transfer it to the housing and construction cooperative ... However, the Mayor later retracted his promises in public," Olga Rudyuk said.

The real estate investors filed a complaint to Vladimir Putin about the Mayor's actions. "We hope that will help us to legalize the house recognized as unsanctioned construction," Olga Rudyuk said.
