A father of a teenager killed in Tbilisi suspends protests

Zaza Saralidze, a father of a killed schoolboy, has announced that the protests are suspended for a week to provide the authorities with the time sufficient to fulfil the protestors' demands to punish the persons responsible for the killing of two teenagers in Tbilisi and to dismiss ministers.

Since May 31, activists demand a fair punishment for the criminals and the law enforcers who covered them up. On June 10, Zaza Saralidze demanded the resignation of Giorgi Gakhariya, Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, and Thea Tsulukiani, Georgian Minister of Justice.

According to Zaza Saralidze, if necessary, a large-scale protest action can be arranged.

He has noted that in a week, the protest actions in Tbilisi will be joined by residents of the Pankisi Gorge of Georgia, who demand to conduct an unbiased investigation into the killing of 19-year-old Tamirlan Machalikashvili.

Meanwhile, classmates of the schoolboys involved in a fight in Tbilisi told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the incident could be provoked by the morals prevailing among them.
