In Sochi, death toll of fire reaches ten people
In Sochi, two more bodies were found at the place of the burned building which was constructed without any permit from the authorities. Ten people are reported to be dead. Relatives of four out of the victims, citizens of Armenia, have identified their family members.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 30, eight people were killed in the fire in Sochi.
During an additional inspection of the fire place, an investigator found bodies of two more dead. Thus, ten people were killed in the fire, reports today the Investigating Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
According to the investigators, the burned building was leased out by an owner of a barbecue house located next door. The fire started in the barbecue house and then spread to the above building, where vacationers stayed.
The owner of the barbecue house has been charged under the article about rendering services of inadequate quality, which provides for up to ten years of imprisonment.
On August 2, the Sochi City Mayor met relatives of four Armenian citizens killed in the fire. The relatives identified the burned bodies of their family members, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Maxim Kovrigin, an official from the Mayoralty. The bodies of those four persons will be sent to Armenia in the near future at the expense of the Sochi city administration, Maxim Kovrigin noted.
