Lawyer Benyash arrested for 14 days

Lawyer Mikhail Benyash, detained in Krasnodar at an unsanctioned march against the pension reform, was arrested for 14 days and sentenced to 40 hours of compulsory works.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 9, dozens of people were detained in Krasnodar at the above unsanctioned march, including Mikhail Benyash, who complained that he was beaten up.

Mikhail Benyash was sentenced to 40 hours of compulsory works under Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, lawyer Alexander Popkov wrote in his page on the Facebook.

Later, Mr Popkov has added that Benyash had been arrested for 14 days under Article 19.3 of the same Code.

Mikhail Benyash himself confirmed his arrest in his Facebook page.
