NAC reveals circumstances of killing alleged militant in Dagestan

During the shootout in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, law enforcers and civilians did not suffer, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has stated today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to law enforcement sources that on September 13, a man was killed in a shootout with policemen.

According to the NAC, the incident occurred late in the evening on September 13, in the federal highway between the villages of Kostek and Chontaul. "Policemen tried to stop a Lada car for inspection, but the criminal, who was inside the car, opened fire on them and tried to escape," the NAC in the message on the circumstances under which policemen opened fire.

At the place of the incident, a Makarov pistol was found. Nobody from among the policemen or civilians suffered during the shootout, the NAC has noted.
