Over 250,000 roubles raised for victims of clashes in Kendelen

Over the first three days of raising funds to help the Adygs affected by the clashes in the area of the Kendelen village, more than 250,000 roubles came, reported Astemir Shebzukhov, a journalist from Nalchik.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Kabardino-Balkaria, activists announced raising funds for Adygs, who suffered during the clashes in the area of the Kendelen village. The organizers of the action planned to use the raised funds to pay for administrative fines, lawyers' services, legal fees, and expenses related to the treatment of injuries.

On September 18, residents of the Balkar village of Kendelen did not let participants of the equestrian procession organized in memory of the 310th anniversary of the Kanjali Battle to pass through the village. The refusal provoked clashes. On September 19, clashes between activists and law enforcers took place in the vicinity of Kendelen, in the village of Zayukovo, and at a checkpoint of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in the town of Baksan. According to the activists, as a result of the clash with the police, 45 people were hospitalized and the number of detainees reached 120 people.

52,000 roubles came on the first day of fundraising. On the second day, 109,000 roubles were raised, and on the third day - 90,000 roubles, reported journalist Astemir Shebzukhov on September 28. "The money is sent by representatives of Circassians who live in Russia and abroad," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the journalist.

According to him, it is the moral duty of everyone to support the people who suffered in the clashes that occurred in the area of the Kendelen village. "When those guys went there, they went not only for themselves, but for all of our people. And in fact, there was an element of provocation there," Astemir Shebzukhov noted.

According to him, the exact number of victims is unknown, and no information concerning the number of broken cars was reported.
