Azerbaijani activist Elgiz Gakhramanov placed into dungeon in his colony
Elgiz Gakhramanov, a member of the NIDA Movement, who is serving his sentence in Colony No. 14, has been placed into dungeon (punishment cell), said Djamal Gakhramanov, his father.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gakhramanov Junior was arrested in August 2016 on charges of a large-scale drug trafficking, and in January 2017, he was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison. Activists treated his sarcastic statements on the constitutional referendum posted on the Facebook to be true reasons of his criminal case.
According to Djamal Gakhramanov, his son is kept in the dungeon cell since October 12 and exposed to physical pressure.
Samir Asadli, the NIDA coordinator, associated in his comment the placement of Elgiz Gakhramanov into the dungeon with the appointment of new colony bosses. With their advent, Mekhman Guseinov and Elgiz Gakhramanov, who are serving their terms in the colony, faced insults; they also restricted in using their mobile phones.
