Three law enforcers wounded at CTO in Dagestan

Two agents of FSB's special units and an employee of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) were wounded in a shootout that broke out in the village of Endirei, Khasavyurt District. The counterterrorist operation (CTO) was the final one aimed to curb down the activities of supporters of the "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court) in the Khasavyurt District, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier referring to a source that one policeman was wounded during the CTO. Law enforcers blocked a house in the above village, from where fire was delivered.

Law enforcers have reported that two militants were killed and identified as the 19-year-old Dagir Gadjiev and the 29-year-old Musa Bilalov; both of whom were residents of the village.

The today's CTO casualties had been involved in attacks on law enforcers, including the murder of two policemen in the vicinity of the Komsomolskoe village, the NAC has stated.

"They were involved in killing civilians, including a resident of Toturbiykala in 2017, and an Imam of the mosque in the village of Mutsalaul this year, as well as in an explosion of a mosque and desecration of the grave of the prominent religious figure of Dagestan, Said Afandi of Chirkei," the NAC's website writes.

According to the NAC, during the today's shootout, two special agents of the FSB and an employee of the "Rosgvardia" were wounded; "no civilians have been hurt."
