Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan resigns
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced his resignation. He has expressed his confidence that the factions would not interfere with his plans to dissolve the parliament.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 11, the Prime Minister said that he was going to resign to ensure the dissolution of the country's parliament and the early parliamentary elections to be held in December. Opponents of Nikol Pashinyan decided not to aggravate the political crisis, and some members of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) went over to his side. So, he may not fear that he will not be able to take the Prime Minister's chair again, believe political analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".
According to the Prime Minister, the purpose of his resignation is to bring the "velvet revolution" to the end and transfer power to the people.
The Prime Minister has presented a road map, according to which President Armen Sargsyan should immediately accept his resignation, then the parliament will not elect a new prime minister within 14 days and will be dissolved for early elections.
