Woman dies in flooded area of Krasnodar Territory

In the area of flooding in the Tuapse District of the Krasnodar Territory, the body of a woman was found; investigators are studying the circumstances of her death.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today due to heavy rains in the Tuapse District, a state of emergency has been announced. Heavy rains have forced to evacuate over 140 people in eight dwelling settlements of the Krasnodar Territory. The downpours have destroyed a bridge over the Tsypka River in Tuapse. The central part of the city, the interchange on the M4 highway and the road to Maikop turned into a boiling stream that carries away cars, residents of the city report.

Investigators went to the Tuapse District after reports appeared about the body of a woman found in the flooding zone, said Natalia Smyatskaya, a senior assistant to the head of the Kuban Branch of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

"An inspection is underway at the venue after the reports appeared about the woman's dead body," the TASS quotes a source from the local branch of the ICRF, citing also a medical source that the body was found today "near one of the flooded houses in Tuapse."
