Zaza Saralidze hospitalized after being detained in Tbilisi

Zaza Saralidze, the father of one of the two murdered schoolboys, who had been holding a protest action near the Georgian Parliament since October 10, was hospitalized from a police station, where he was taken for beating a policeman.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from September 10, Zaza Saralidze, a father of a killed schoolboy, has been holding a hunger strike in front of the Georgian parliament building.

In the morning on October 26, Zaza Saralidze was detained in Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Parliament on charges of assaulting a policeman, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has stated. Two of his supporters were also detained under the article of administrative offense, the MIA has added.

A video of his attack on the policeman was shown on the "Imedi" TV. The incident broke out when Saralidze and several of his supporters decided to equip the venue in front of the parliament, where they hold their protest. When they were about to set up a tent, a policeman approached them, Saralidze attacked him and started beating him. He continued the attack, even when the policeman was in the ambulance. When Saralidze was taken to the police station, he felt bad and was hospitalized in handcuffs and under police convoy, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports with reference to the TV channel.
