Saralidze hospitalized from protest action in Tbilisi

In the course of a clash with policemen, who prevented protesters in Tbilisi from setting up tents, Zaza Saralidze felt bad and was taken to a hospital. His supporters started a rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 26, Saralidze was taken to hospital after his clash with a policeman who tried to prevent him from setting up a tent outside the parliament building.

In the evening on November 10, activists of public organizations came to the Parliament of Georgia to set up tents in the venue, where Zaza Saralidze is holding his protest action. A clash broke out there with policemen; and Marina Begadze, Saralidze's mother, needed hospitalization.

After his mother was hospitalized from the action, Zaza Saralidze became hysterical, and he began fainting. Doctors of the ambulance, who provided him with first aid on the spot, decided to hospitalize him too.

Shortly thereafter, clashes with policemen stopped. The action "Let's Defend Freedom with Tents" organized by six NGOs, including the Association of Young Lawyers, the "Open Society-Georgia", was strengthened by politicians from the United National Movement (UNM), the "European Georgia" and other political parties, as well as by ordinary citizens. The protesters staged a rally in front of the parliament building and declared their intention to stay here over all the night.
