Social network users criticize law enforcers for killing two men in Chechnya

Users of social networks found doubts the law enforcers' version that the two men shot dead in the Urus-Martan District had been involved in the armed underground. The hunting rifle that the casualties had on them is not a typical terrorists' weapon; and the young people could just go hunting, many commentators have suggested. They indicate that the guys should have been detained and returned to normal life.

According to law enforcers, on November 11, near the village of Martan-Chu, two local residents, born in 1994 and 2001, tried to hijack a car, resisted and were shot dead. According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", this was the tenth armed incident in Chechnya since the start of 2018. According to official data, at least eight of these incidents involved participants of the armed underground aged less than 35 years.

In the Instagram, subscribers of the public hello_grozny discuss the shootout. Many users state that law enforcers could have coped with the two guys armed with one rifle without killing them.

Some users believe that the guys should have been detained and subjected to some prophylactic work.

"Young guys; what was the reason to kill them; why not keep them alive so that they could come to their senses and live like other people?" the user gamidgereev has noted.

“It's so scary; they kill our young people without inquiry and trial. I pity their relatives very much," the user madi.1976_ has written.

A number of users doubt that the casualties were involved in the armed underground.

"How easy it is to justify a murder in Chechnya! You just need to say that the guys had been members of an illegal armed formation (IAF)," the user tamir_911 believes.
