Sports tournament in memory of Gasanguseinov brothers founded in Dagestan

The authorities of the Shamil District of Dagestan, where the Gasanguseinov brothers were killed, have established a volleyball tournament in their memory and began building a pitch for it.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nabi, 17, and Gasangusein, 19, Gasanguseinov were shot dead on August 23, 2016. Law enforcers insisted that the brothers had been members of the "Shamil" grouping of militants, but in March 2017, the prosecutor stated that their links with militants remained unproven.

Since September 24, the parents of the assassinated brothers were holding pickets in Makhachkala.

Kamil Magomedov, the deputy head of the Shamil District, does not exclude law enforcers' guilt in the brothers' death. "There would have been nothing [pickets and the trial], if they had not dressed the bodies of the dead brothers in camouflage uniform. The family cannot forgive just that to them," the "Kavkaz.Realii" quotes Mr Magomedov as saying.
