Congress of Chechens in Dagestani Khasavyurt alarms network users

Chechens have no "mono-ethnic region" in Dagestan, and it is a big problem. This has been declared by State Duma member Buvaisar Saitiev at the Congress of Chechens of Dagestan held in Khasavyurt. The statement voiced by the State Duma member has alarmed Dagestani users of social networks, and they have pointed out the danger of aggravation of the territorial dispute and the outbreak of conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the issue of disputed Chechen villages in Dagestan has again become acute against the background of the change in the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya. Chechen activists note that the problem of restoring the Aukh District requires a solution without leaving Dagestan. However, Akkin Chechens must be restored in political status and have the right to the cultural revival.

At the tenth Congress of the Chechens of Dagestan, participants discussed the socio-economic and political conditions of life of the Chechens in Dagestan. There was also a discussion about "strengthening the unity of the peoples of Dagestan," the "Novoe Delo" reports.

Buvaisar Saitiev outlined the problem of the Dagestani Chechens: unlike other titular nationalities of Dagestan, they "do not have a mono-ethnic region," the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.

Some users of social networks treat the statement voiced by the State Duma member as a threat of territorial claims from Chechnya and a conflict with the neighbouring republic.

Today, two-thirds of the territories that historically constituted the Aukh District are represented by the Novolaksky District of Dagestan. Towns and villages of the district are located along the border with modern Chechnya.

Against the background of the agreement on the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia, the Chechnya's claims on the territory of neighbouring regions cannot ruled out, believe political analysts Dmitry Oreshkin and Aleksei Gunya.
