Grigol Vashadze who lost presidential election in Georgia announces no revolution

The Georgian alliance "Strength in Unity" assures that its members do not intend to organize a revolution because of disagreement with the result of the elections. However, the authorities warn that they will not allow revolutionary scenarios and unrest. The opposition "European Georgia" Party believes that the Georgian society is already developed enough to change power through elections and not through street actions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that following the results of the second round of the presidential election held on November 28, candidate Salome Zurabishvili, supported by the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party, won. Grigol Vashadze, an opponent of Salome Zurabishvili, and the alliance "Strength in Unity" which promoted him refused to recognize the victory of Salome Zurabishvili.

The opposition claimed large-scale electoral fraud. Grigol Vashadze and Mikhail Saakashvili, the leader of the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, called on their supporters to come to a rally on December 2.

"We plan no revolution and unrest. We plan to do what the Constitution allows us to do," Grigol Vashadze stated on the air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company.

Sofo Kiladze, an MP from the "Georgian Dream" Party, believes that the opposition "intends to direct the development of events along the path of unrest."
