Mikhail Saakashvili calls for protests on inauguration day of new president of Georgia

Mikhail Saakashvili has called on Georgian citizens to go out to hold protest actions on December 16, the inauguration day of the president-elect Salome Zurabishvili. The ruling "Georgian Dream-Democratic Movement" Party has treated Saakashvili's words as a call for destabilization and reminded that he had lost his Georgian citizenship and the right to participate in the country's politics.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 28, Salome Zurabishvili won the second round of presidential election. The opposition declared large-scale violations, including bribing voters at the voting day.

On December 10, Mikhail Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia and the leader of the oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, called on the Facebook for the mobilization of activists on December 16. Grigol Vashadze had won the election, but the authorities "stole his votes," Mr Saakashvili has stated, calling Salome Zurabishvili a "puppet."

Saakashvili is personally insulting Zurabishvili, a woman, and this is unacceptable, said the MP Sofo Kiladze on the "Imedi" TV.
