Volgograd residents commemorate victims of trolleybus terror act

On December 30, residents of Volgograd laid flowers at the memorial stone installed at the place of the terror act committed five years ago in a city trolleybus. After the incident, some townspeople refused to use public transport whatsoever.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 29, 2013, an explosion was triggered at the Volgograd railway station. 18 people were killed, and 45 others were wounded. A day later, on December 30, another explosion occurred in a trolleybus en route No. 15 "A". It killed 16 people and wounded 28. Both explosions were committed by suicide bombers.

Thirty-seven Volgograd residents came to the commemoration of the victims of the terror act committed on December 30, 2013, an employee of the Volgograd administration, one of the organizers of the event, has stated. The action was held at the explosion venue – near No. 122 in Kachintsev Street.

"It’s a great pity for the casualties; there are a lot of youngsters among them. It was a terrible death. At first, after the explosion, I couldn't use buses and trolleybuses. I was afraid. I still don't feel safe in the transport," Elena Bandurina, a pensioner, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
