Charges of plotting riots dropped from two "Sasna Tsrer" members
Today, at the session on the case of members of the "Sasna Tsrer" detachment, the Yerevan court has ruled to stop the criminal prosecution of Varuzhan Avetisyan and Pavel Manukyan, accused of plotting mass riots.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that activists of the "Constituent Parliament", including Varuzhan Avetisyan, the deputy chairman of the movement, and Pavel Manukyan, an activist, were accused of preparing mass riots in April 2015, and released on May 4, 2015, under recognizance not to leave.
Messrs Avetisyan and Manukyan, along with other members of the "Sasna Tsrer" detachment, formed from supporters of the "Constituent Parliament", are also accused of capturing the building of the PPS (patrol-and-post service) police regiment in July 2016. On October 10, 2018, Pavel Manukyan was released from custody on bail.
Today, at the court session on the "Sasna Tsrer" case, Judge Mesrop Makyan has ruled to stop the criminal prosecution of Varuzhan Avetisyan and Pavel Manukyan on charges of preparing mass riots, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports referring to a broadcast from the courtroom run on the "Factor.am" YouTube channel.
