Defence presents signs of falsification of Oyub Titiev's case

The absence of traces of scotch tape on the package with drug, found, according to prosecution, on Oyub Titiev, indicates unreliable case materials, the advocates have stated. They failed to persuade the court to study the history of telephone calls made by the GIBDD (traffic police) inspector, who detained Titiev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the case of Oyub Titiev, the head of the Grozny office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", is tried by the court since July 19, 2018. On February 12, 2019, the defence demanded to check the details of telephone calls made by Alikhan Garaev, the GIBDD inspector who, according to the prosecution, reported to the duty unit of the police about the suspicious substance found on Titiev.

Ouyb Titiev has stated that it was not Garaev who made a call in his presence, but Khusein Khutaev. He has also noted that he distrusts the content of the logbook.

Pyotr Zaikin, an advocate, has added that the break on the package with the drug does not look like the scotch tape was torn it; and there is no adhesive substance on the package, the press service of the HRC "Memorial" reports.
