Kadyrov reacts to sanctions connected to Nemtsov's murder
The head of Chechnya has condemned the US sanctions imposed in connection with the murder of Boris Nemtsov, and said he had no assets in the Middle East that US authorities decided to find.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 7, the relevant committee of the US Congress approved a resolution calling for the investigation into the murder of the politician Boris Nemtsov and to impose sanctions on those involved in it. Also, congressmen have offered to study the foreign business assets of Ramzan Kadyrov.
In his turn, Kadyrov has stated that he has no foreign assets. "I have never had and have no assets either in the Middle East, or in Europe, or in America," he wrote today in his page on the Telegram, treating the approval by the House of Representatives of the US Congress of sanction bills as another "anti-Russian step." "Personally, I am blamed for calling Zaur Dadaev a patriot of Russia and not believing in his guilt. <...> I had and have every right to such an opinion, as I saw him in a combat situation, when in a heavy battle about 15 especially dangerous terrorists were liquidated. I still don't believe that he was guilty of killing Boris Nemtsov. This is my firm conviction," he wrote.
Let us remind you that on July 13, 2017, Zaur Dadaev was sentenced to 20 years in prison within Boris Nemtsov's murder case.
Boris Nemtsov was shot dead in Moscow on February 27, 2015. On July 13, 2017, five natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia were convicted within the case of his murder. Advocates of his family stated that the crime was not solved, since its organizers and customers are still at large.
